Part-Time Yard Hand / Equipment Whisperer – Helena, MT

Do you enjoy big machines, getting your hands dirty, and the satisfying clank of metal done right? Good. We’re looking for a reliable yard hand who isn’t afraid of hard work, unpredictable Montana weather, or the occasional stubborn bolt.

If you happen to be an actual mechanic, even better—we won’t hold it against you.

This is a part-time position (24–40 hours/week), perfect for someone who likes variety, hates being stuck behind a desk, and doesn’t mind going home a little dusty but proud of it.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Keeping our equipment clean, maintained, and ready for action (yes, even when it doesn’t feel like cooperating)
• Performing regular servicing so things don’t fall apart at the worst possible time
• Operating a skid steer at job sites when needed—and looking like you know what you’re doing
• Working as directed by customers (politely, of course)
• Loading and unloading attachments and equipment without turning it into a physics experiment

What Helps You Succeed Here

• At least 2 years of experience doing similar work
• The ability to show up, work hard, and not mysteriously disappear when it’s time to do the less glamorous tasks
• Experience running loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steers, and trailers
• Comfort with chains, tools, and fixing things that may or may not want to be fixed
• A strong sense of responsibility and a decent sense of humor
• The ability to pass a drug test
