CNC Programmer near Dekalb M-F Pay based on Experience

 

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other precision machining equipment while ensuring quality, efficiency, and production deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs 
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
• Set up and troubleshoot CNC machines including mills, lathes, and machining centers
• Select proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and fixtures for production
• Perform first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
• Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production teams to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues as they arise
• Maintain accurate program documentation and setup sheets
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization

Qualifications:

• Minimum [X] years of CNC programming experience
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming
• Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes
• Proficient with  software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar
• Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with tight tolerance machining preferred
• Knowledge of tooling, cutting speeds, and machining processes
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High attention to detail and quality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Tool & Die, machining, or manufacturing background
• Experience with multi-axis machining
• Experience with prototype and production environments
• Leadership or training experience is a plus
