Position Overview

The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers with clinical and administrative duties, support patient care operations, and help ensure efficient daily workflow within the practice. This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient intake, examinations, and procedures
  • Record patient vital signs, medical history, and documentation accurately
  • Maintain and update Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Schedule appointments and assist with front office administrative tasks as needed
  • Follow HIPAA and OSHA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and workplace safety
  • Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members
  • Handle a high volume of patients efficiently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, or equivalent training/experience required
  • Must possess at least one of the following certifications/licenses:
    • Medical Assistant (MA)
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
    • EMT
    • Paramedic
  • Required certifications include at least one of the following:
    • AHA BLS Certification (required for all candidates)
    • AAMA
    • NCCT
    • NHA
    • Registered through AMT

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulatory guidelines
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Proficiency in computer applications and typing skills
