We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience with various tools, and a solid understanding of electrical and automotive systems. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on quality service and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawn mowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and belt adjustments
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Conduct welding and other fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide excellent customer service
- Work with heavy lifting equipment to handle large or heavy engine components safely
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work meets safety standards
- Collaborate with sales staff to recommend parts or services for customer needs
Qualifications:
- Proven mechanic experience with small engines or automotive repair preferred
- Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and mechanical components essential
- Experience with welding, heavy lifting, and the use of hand tools and power tools highly desirable
- Customer service experience is beneficial for engaging effectively with clients
- Prior experience working with automotive or outdoor power equipment will be considered an asset
Wage: $25.00 - $27.00/Hour
