We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mill Turn Machinist to join an advanced precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating multi-axis mill-turn CNC machines to manufacture complex, high-precision components used in aerospace, defense, and other high-performance industries.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with simultaneous milling and turning operations, multi-axis programming, tight tolerances, and complex part geometries.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi-axis mill-turn CNC machines to produce precision machined components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs
  • Select tooling and fixturing to support efficient multi-operation machining setups
  • Machine a variety of materials including stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other high-performance alloys
  • Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to improve machining processes and workflow efficiency
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes on complex parts
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, or programming issues and optimize machine performance
  • Maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling documentation, and production records
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized 6S-compliant work area
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certification in CNC machining or programming preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of precision machining experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating and programming mill-turn equipment
  • Strong CNC programming experience including G-code and conversational programming
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for multi-axis machining operations
  • Strong understanding of multi-axis tool paths, work offsets, live tooling, and sub-spindles
  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Experience machining aerospace-grade and high-performance materials
  • Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior aerospace, defense, or RF component manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with CMM inspection equipment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices

  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent repetitive movements and machine operation tasks
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machining equipment and production noise
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and precision manufacturing standards
