We are seeking a detail-oriented Miniature Precision Manufacturing Technician to support the production of highly precise medical and miniature components in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role involves precision assembly, wire EDM manufacturing, inspection, and handling of delicate components critical to quality and patient safety.

The ideal candidate has excellent hand dexterity, patience, and the ability to work with very small components under magnification while following strict quality and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Electronics & Precision Assembly

  • Assemble miniature and high-density PCB assemblies using through-hole and surface mount components
  • Perform precision hand soldering of micro-sized and fine-pitch components under microscopes or magnification
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions
  • Inspect PCB assemblies for workmanship, solder quality, orientation, and polarity according to IPC standards
  • Perform rework and repair including component removal and replacement
  • Follow ESD, cleanliness, and documentation procedures within a regulated manufacturing environment

Wire EDM & Precision Manufacturing

  • Set up and operate wire EDM equipment to manufacture miniature precision components
  • Load programs, align workpieces, and monitor cutting operations to maintain tight tolerances
  • Inspect machined components using microscopes, optical comparators, gauges, and micrometers
  • Perform secondary operations including cleaning and careful handling of delicate components
  • Maintain production traceability and quality documentation

General Manufacturing & Quality

  • Work with extremely small and delicate components requiring sustained focus and steady hand coordination
  • Maintain cleanroom or controlled manufacturing practices as required
  • Accurately document production activities, inspections, and nonconformance reports
  • Identify and communicate quality, safety, or process concerns promptly
  • Support prototype, low-volume, and high-mix manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on process improvements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in miniature manufacturing, electronics assembly, precision machining, or medical device production preferred
  • Ability to work with small components under magnification for extended periods
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and detailed written instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic understanding of ESD and regulated manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PCB assembly and hand soldering
  • Experience operating wire EDM equipment
  • Experience within medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and precision inspection techniques

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive fine motor hand movements
  • Excellent close-range vision with or without correction
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
