A growing and established tax advisory and insurance services firm is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting support, and front-office operations.
This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a client-facing environment and can confidently manage bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, accounting support, and client communication with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, polished, and comfortable balancing financial accuracy with professional client service in a fast-paced small-business setting.
Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple small-business client accounts
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process payroll and payroll-related reporting
- Apply strong understanding of debits, credits, and accounting principles
- Assist with financial record maintenance and account setup
- Support bookkeeping accuracy across multiple client files
Administrative Support
- Serve as the professional front-desk point of contact for visitors and incoming calls
- Handle client payments, document intake, and file organization
- Manage daily workflow and administrative processes
- Coordinate scheduling and internal documentation
- Maintain organized systems and ensure operational efficiency
Client-Facing Support
- Respond professionally to client inquiries by phone and email
- Triage routine bookkeeping, tax, and insurance-related questions
- Escalate complex matters appropriately
- Help reduce owner interruptions by independently handling routine client needs

- Custom SuiteCRM platform
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing bookkeeping functions
- Strong QuickBooks proficiency
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, debits, and credits
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional client-facing presence
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Adaptability and willingness to learn internal systems
Education Requirements
- Associate degree required
- Associate degree in Accounting or Paralegal Studies, combined with relevant professional experience, preferred
- Additional training or certifications in QuickBooks, payroll processing, or accounting systems are a plus

Schedule & Flexibility
- Standard schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexible scheduling available when needed
- Occasional overtime or weekend support may be required during peak tax season, based on business needs (typically limited to 1–4 weekends annually)
