A local grain company is looking for a Quality Control Technician. The perfect candidate must be able to perform line inspections and quality control functions as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor to assure all products meet established standards for purity, composition & quality.

Key Resposibilites: 

  • Assists in policy and procedural compliance throughout the manufacturing process as related to established quality standards
  • Performs pre-operation line approval in all production areas
  • Takes weight checks periodically to determine that Encapsulating/tableting machines are properly dosing
  • Inspects in-process and finished product for defects and gathers samples for testing
  • Performs any additional customer required quality control checks in Production to assure compliance with established specifications
  • Assist as needed, the sampling and releasing of incoming raw materials
  • Assists in maintaining and retaining samples of raw materials and finished goods in an orderly manner
  • Performs environmental sanitation sampling
  • Assist Quality Control Supervisor in maintaining Quality Control Hold Log and keeping designated Quality Control hold areas organized
  • Assist as needed in the monthly retest or sampling of materials
  • Release products to ship as required, after all batch records have been reviewed & approved, and all testing is completed
  • Complete verification of order approval for Scheduling
  • Assist in equipment IQ/OQ completion
  • Assist with investigations
  • Checks all packaging (bulk powder & bulk capsules) work orders against the PFL’s
  • Approve work order folders for Scheduling
  • Physically maintain and manage the Q.C. Hold areas. This includes being responsible for all items that are put into or leave the hold areas and periodically inventorying the items that are awaiting dispositions
  • Assist in maintaining and managing the QC Hold Log. This includes updating and closing out files as needed
  • Assist in maintaining and retaining samples of packaging components in an orderly manner
  • Performs environmental sanitation sampling

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Good inter-departmental communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proper use of PPE is required.
  • Must be able to use the in-house computer system and applicable programming, as well as other basic office equipment such as the fax machine, photocopy machine, scanners, and printers.
  • Must be able to use a pallet jack.

Candidate must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and move up to 250 pounds using a pallet jack or other similar tools. Regularly required to sit, walk, and stand.

Full Time Evaluation Hire Position

M-T 2:45 pm - 1:15 am

$20.50 / hour
