Position Summary
Express Employment is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Food Procurement Coordinator to join a local growing nonprofit team. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and managing food inventory while ensuring compliance with grant and program funding requirements.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and flexibility are essential. Because they are a smaller nonprofit organization, this individual must be comfortable wearing many hats and supporting a variety of operational needs.
This position works closely with vendors, volunteers, community members, and internal staff, so strong professional communication and customer service skills are essential.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Source, purchase, and coordinate food orders from vendors and suppliers
- Manage monthly purchasing budgets and maintain accurate procurement records
- Track inventory levels, monitor usage, and coordinate reordering as needed
- Ensure compliance with grant and program funding requirements by accurately tracking which food items are purchased through specific funding sources
- Maintain organization and documentation related to food distribution, sales, and free community programs
- Assist in developing and improving inventory systems, organization methods, and operational processes
- Communicate professionally with vendors, volunteers, and members of the public
- Support general nonprofit operations and assist with additional duties as needed
- Operate pallet jacks safely and assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient storage areas

- Comfortable working in both office and warehouse/storage environments
- Ability to operate a pallet jack; forklift certification is a plus or can be obtained after hire
- Grocery, warehouse, food procurement, inventory, or nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required
