SUMMARY: Process products which includes shipping, receiving and inventory control. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Wraps, ties, or places material in envelopes, boxes, or other containers.

Produces signs to fill orders on sign making computer.

Prepares shipping label for packed cartons.

Determines method of shipping on undesignated packages.

Keeps records of materials sent.

Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

Routes items to departments.

Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

Requisitions and stores materials to maintain stock.

Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.

Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

Arranges on occasion stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.

Uses computer to enter records.

Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.

Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.

Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.

Prepares parcels for mailing.

Maintains inventory records.

Performs semi-skilled manual operations to support all areas of production as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum two years related experience and/or training. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficient experience utilizing Excel. Demonstrated attention to detail capabilities.
