Chemical Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Chemical Operator to join the team of our well-established client in Spartanburg County. This position is responsible for mixing specific raw materials in the correct order according to formula batch cards and preparing finished products for shipment to customers. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, able to follow detailed instructions, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions

• Use batch cards to assemble inventory and follow mixing instructions to manufacture specialty products
• Unload raw materials into designated containers at specified weights
• Operate mixing equipment to produce product according to specifications
• Properly label, package, and store finished materials
• Carry out duties assigned under ISO 9001 and Responsible Distribution guidelines
• Initiate actions to prevent and correct non-conformance, including interruption of production when necessary
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

• Follow all PPE requirements and general safe work practices
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards throughout the work area

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions written in English
• Must be qualified to operate a forklift and hi-lift equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds (team lift)

• Previous manufacturing or chemical mixing experience is a plus

Schedule

 Sunday thru Thursday, 7pm- 5:30am

 

Pay

 Starting pay is $26 per hour.  Increases to $28 per hour when hired by the client. 

 Performance evaluations conducted annually.

 

Benefits

When hired by the client, you will have 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks of vacation, 1 week of sick time, health, dental and vision offerings. (Waiting period applies for benefits.) Generous 401k with 5% contribution by the client (not a match...they contribute 5% for every employee). Up to 2% quarterly bonus based on business performance. Tuition reimbursement for classes that relate to job of $5k annually.
