Machine Operator
Position Summary
We are currently seeking dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operators to join our production team. The primary purpose of this role is to manufacture a variety of parts and components according to customer specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have previous machine operating experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Lead Hand and Operations Manager
Work Schedule
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Please note that overtime may be required from time to time in order to meet customer and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Cut materials and components using hand and electric shears, plate shears, wire cutters, nibblers, and other equipment
- Roll parts using various rolling machines and equipment
- Operate slitter machines to slit materials to required widths
- Weld panels and parts using spot welding and press welding equipment
- Set up machinery and equipment where required and applicable
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and product quality
- Minimize material scrap through proper machine setup, careful operation, and continuous quality monitoring
- Assist with packaging, shipping, and material handling as required
- Perform additional production and warehouse duties as assigned
Quality Control Responsibilities
- Ensure all parts and components are produced according to work order instructions, documented standards, and quality requirements
- Conduct visual and basic quality inspections throughout the production process
- Report equipment issues or operational concerns that may impact product quality or production efficiency
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Immediately report any unsafe work conditions, practices, equipment issues, or workplace hazards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Follow all company health and safety policies and plant safety procedures posted on the Health & Safety Board
- Do not operate faulty, defective, or unsafe equipment
- Only operate machinery and equipment for which proper training has been provided and where safe operation can be performed confidently
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have valid residency status in Canada
- Minimum 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong commitment to punctuality, attendance, and workplace reliability
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good mathematical and numerical reasoning abilities
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
