Body Technician

Located in East Lansing, MI

The Body Repair Technician is responsible for making body repairs, major or minor, on all vehicles, and assist mechanics whenever needed. these essential functions include the following:

• Body panel removal, repair, and replacement 
• Glass removal and replacement
• External mirror removal, repair, and replacement 
• Fiberglass and Bondo repairs
• Decal Installation and Removal (Internal and External)
• Seat Onsert/cushion installation, repair and replacement (driver and passenger seats) 
• Bike rack and mounting bracket removal, repair and replacement (driver and passenger seat)

Must provide a complete set of tools, including mechanic tools up through 1-1/4-Inch size wrenches and sockets, including metric tools up to 20 mm

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license from the State of MI and submit a clean five (5) year driving record with application
• Must possess a MI Chauffeur based "BP" Temporary Instructions CDL permit (T.I.P) prior to hire date
• Must possess a valid State of MI group B commercial Driver License with Passenger and air brake Endorsement within 90 days of hire
• Verifiable prior experience in body repair (light or heavy) 
• Must possess a Forklift driving Certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment 

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting and Carrying up to 100 lbs. 
• Constant standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and twisting 
• Ability to use hands to operate tools, grasp, push, pull, and steady arms for extended periods 
• Precise finger movements for small parts and controls
