Die Set Operator- 2nd Shift

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Die Set-Up Technician to support our automotive manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for pulling, setting, and troubleshooting dies while following established setup procedures and quality standards to ensure efficient and accurate production. The ideal candidate will have strong press operation experience, the ability to optimize setup parameters for increased throughput, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include verifying proper die setup, completing required setup documentation, loading coils, staging dies, operating presses, and supporting production activities such as packing parts, printing labels, recording scrap, and consuming raw materials through ShopEdge. This position also requires setting up feeders and PLC controls using Minster, Aida, Siemens, Coe, and Dallas systems, while running first-piece approvals and making necessary adjustments until quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull and set dies following outlined setup procedures
- Read and complete Quality Process Check Sheets and setup documentation
- Verify proper die setup including shut height, die protection, and scrap removal
- Load coils, stage dies, change date/logo stamps, and inspect parts
- Operate presses and assist with packing parts as needed
- Print tags, label parts, record scrap, and consume raw materials using ShopEdge
- Set up feeders using Coe, Minster, and Dallas controls
- Configure PLCs using Minster, Aida, and Siemens controls
- Run jobs for first-piece approval and make setup adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot die setup issues and optimize parameters for production efficiency
- Maintain strong housekeeping and safety standards following 5S practices
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing
- Experience with Minster, Aida, Siemens, Coe, and Dallas controls required
- HMS transfer knowledge is a plus
- Forklift experience/training preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic math skills
- Experience using measuring tools
- Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA safety requirements related to die setup and press operation
- Familiarity with IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 standards preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards
