Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Operations Manager to lead North American operations for an established industrial manufacturing organization.

This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity for an ambitious operations professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across operations, supply chain, engineering support, inventory planning, ERP systems, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

• Lead daily warehouse and operational activities from inbound through outbound execution
• Set priorities, resolve operational challenges, and drive consistent execution
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback and accountability
• Drive cross-training initiatives to improve operational flexibility and team coverage
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and transparency

Inventory, Planning & Supply Chain

• Own and lead the SIOP process for North American operations
• Align demand, supply, and inventory strategies through structured planning
• Manage constraints, shortages, and inventory priorities proactively
• Lead replenishment and stocking decisions to balance service levels and inventory investment
• Partner with Sales to forecast demand and optimize inventory strategy
• Oversee product lifecycle management, stock optimization, and obsolescence planning
• Serve as ERP process owner, ensuring accurate master data and operational discipline

Engineering & Technical Support

• Act as the primary technical resource for North American operations
• Support customers and internal teams with product and application expertise
• Partner closely with global engineering teams on projects and technical initiatives
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for technical and quality issues
• Deliver technical and product training internally and externally

Quality & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Review and manage return material authorizations (RMA)
• Analyze quality trends and implement corrective actions
• Work closely with Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Engineering teams
• Ensure operational execution consistently meets customer expectations and delivery commitments

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management
• MBA or advanced engineering/operations degree preferred

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in operations, engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing leadership
• Experience leading teams while remaining actively involved in daily operations
• Strong ERP experience required; Dynamics 365 preferred
• Proven track record driving operational improvements and solving technical/customer issues
• Experience with inventory management, planning, warehouse operations, and continuous improvement
