Accounting Administrator

Salary: $17.00 / hr
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Administrator to join our team. This role works closely with customers and internal support teams to manage customer receivables, minimize financial risk, and maximize collections. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to think quickly and negotiate effectively while providing exceptional customer service.
Job Summary
- Maintain a portfolio of customer accounts receivable balances by monitoring aged items and ensuring timely collections
- Establish and monitor customer credit limits and payment terms to minimize financial risk
- Escalate delinquent accounts through the risk mitigation process and assist in resolving underlying issues
- Utilize collector DSO and other AR metrics to support targeted collection efforts
- Maintain customer account information including contact details, payment methods, and other core AR data
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing, pricing, and customer account issues
- Answer incoming customer calls, monitor shared email inboxes, log customer concerns, and process phone payments
- Track KPIs and metrics established by leadership
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries while maintaining detailed account notes in company software
- Participate in special projects and additional administrative duties as assigned
- Adhere to company safety requirements and attendance expectations
Experience Required
- Accounts Receivable, collections, or customer service experience preferred
- Experience handling billing inquiries, payment processing, and account follow-up preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office in a professional environment preferred
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to negotiate effectively and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Reliable attendance and professionalism required
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform detailed computer work
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds and operate standard office equipment
