Assembly Operator II (Soldering Experience Required)

Express Employment Professionals is now hiring Production Technicians for a valued client in the Katy, TX area. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with soldering experience who are looking to grow within a manufacturing environment.


Work Schedule

  • Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Weekends (as needed based on production):
    • Saturday–Sunday: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Overview

As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for assembling high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires strong attention to detail, precision work, and the ability to read and follow technical drawings and procedures.

Candidates with soldering experience are required, and certifications such as J-STD-001 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 are highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support production goals and meet scheduled deadlines
  • Perform cup soldering and lap splicing
  • Strip wires and cables
  • Assemble products using hand tools and specialized equipment
  • Conduct basic electrical testing
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Accurately document job data in computer systems
  • Follow established manufacturing and quality procedures
  • Perform precise, detailed work on a consistent basis

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing/assembly experience
  • Hands-on soldering experience
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity

Preferred Qualifications

  • J-STD-001 Certification
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • 90% production floor work; 10% computer/data entry
  • Regular use of hands for handling small components
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout shifts
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, or crouching as needed
  • Lift up to 30 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Work with small, precise components requiring close vision
  • Occasionally climb ladders

  • Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures
