Overview

A growing manufacturing organization in Central Florida is seeking a Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of a key business unit. This role serves as a strategic partner to plant leadership and corporate finance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving operational insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on, self-sufficient accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can take ownership of processes, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities
• Manage month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
• Develop and present detailed variance analysis and actionable insights
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to operations and leadership
• Partner closely with plant leadership to identify cost drivers and improve performance
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Support internal and external audits
• Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives
• Prepare and present financial updates to senior leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Strong manufacturing accounting experience required (job costing and standard costing highly preferred)
• Proven ability to manage the full close process independently
• Experience with ERP systems (JobScope, Oracle, or similar)
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• CPA or CPA track preferred
