Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Pay: $18/hr-$26/hr depending on Experience 

 

 

Job Summary

The JR Buyer / Expeditor is an entry-level member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for supporting purchasing activities and expediting orders to ensure material availability for production and operational requirements. This role focuses on maintaining accurate system data, following up on purchase orders, and supporting supplier communication to help ensure on-time delivery.

The JR Buyer / Expeditor works closely with Buyers, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and Finance teams to support daily purchasing execution and resolve basic issues. This position is well suited for individuals beginning their career in supply chain or those with administrative or coordination experience looking to develop in procurement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up with suppliers on opens purchase orders to confirm delivery dates, shipment status, and order acknowledgments.
  • Act as a support point of contact between the company and suppliers for order-related communication.
  • Support Manufacturing and Planning teams by addressing material availability concerns and escalating risks.
  • Assist Buyers in expediting critical materials to support production schedules.
  • Track and report late orders, shortages, and potential delivery risks.
  • Update ERP system with accurate supplier commits, delivery dates, and order status notes.
  • Assist with resolving basic discrepancies related to quantities, delivery dates, and receipts.
  • Support Accounts Payable by helping gather information for invoice discrepancies when needed.
  • Maintain organized records of supplier communications and order updates.
  • Participate in daily and weekly cross-functional meetings to support alignment on priorities.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and maintenance of purchasing and supplier information in ERP systems.
  • Support company KPIs, including supplier on-time delivery (OTD), past due purchase orders, and material availability.
  • Support supply chain improvement initiatives by identifying gaps in order tracking, communication, and data accuracy.
