About The Position:

A busy truck and trailer repair facility in Hamilton is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Mechanic Welder to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong mechanical abilities and welding experience who enjoys working on heavy trucks, trailers, and custom repairs in a fast-paced shop environment.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Perform structural and mechanical welding repairs on trucks and trailers
  • Repair cracked frames, floors, cross members, dump bodies, and trailer components
  • Fabricate and modify metal parts as required
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy trucks and trailers
  • Complete preventative maintenance and general repairs
  • Operate welding equipment including MIG, stick, and cutting torches
  • Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and repair instructions
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the shop team

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Truck & Coach Technician, Trailer Mechanic, or Welder
  • Strong welding and fabrication experience required
  • Experience working on heavy trucks and trailers preferred
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Knowledge of shop safety procedures and equipment
  • CWB certification considered an asset
  • 310T license or apprenticeship considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
