Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. This position is responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, floor care, trash removal, and upkeep of indoor and outdoor areas.

Key Responsibilities

The Custodian will be responsible for:

Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms using established practices and procedures
Refilling restroom dispensers, including paper towels, tissue, toilet paper, hand soap, and other supplies
Cleaning, dusting, and wiping furniture, including conference tables, desks, and common-area surfaces
Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
Emptying and cleaning wastebaskets and trash containers
Stripping, cleaning, buffing, sealing, and finishing hard-surface floors on a monthly basis
Maintaining outside walk areas, including sweeping debris and washing walkways around the buildings
Cleaning outdoor patio furniture
Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work environment for all staff and visitors
Performing other custodial duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred but not required
Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
Strong attention to detail and dependability
Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally

Additional Requirements

Must be able to pass a background check, including a credit check, where permitted by applicable law

Work Environment

This role requires regular movement throughout the facility and may include work both indoors and outdoors. The Custodian may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, trash, and typical facility-maintenance conditions.
