Position Title: Medical Assistant – Float (Contract-to-hire)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and dependable Medical Assistant – Float to support both front and back office operations. This role works closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and accurate documentation. The float position will travel between clinic locations in Davidson County. Experience with eClinicalWorks is required.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations and treatments
- Perform clinical duties under the supervision of a provider or registered nurse
- Interview patients, obtain vital signs, and accurately document patient information in the medical record
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms prior to patient visits
- Administer treatments and procedures as ordered by the provider
- Document provider encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed
- Transcribe provider orders for laboratory tests, radiology, and medications
- Support front office operations including answering phones, scheduling, filing, and maintaining patient records
- Assist with ordering, stocking, and managing medical supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment
Requirements:
Licensure / Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
- Certification must be from an approved credentialing body, including but not limited to:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in both medical front and back office settings
Additional Requirements:
- BLS Provider Certification required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Davidson and Williamson county locations
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Flexibility to float between clinics as needed
