Our client in Hiawatha, IA is looking for a Low Voltage Cable Technician!

Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join a growing team supporting commercial communication system installations. This role is perfect for someone with hands-on construction, mechanical, or low voltage experience who enjoys working in the field and takes pride in quality workmanship. You will assist with the installation of communication systems including data networks, security, fire alarm, audio, video, and wireless systems while working alongside project leads to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cable pathway construction, cable pulling, and device terminations
• Support installation and testing of low voltage communication systems
• Follow project plans, scope of work, and all required safety practices
• Help with system testing and creating project punch lists
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
• Communicate any project changes to the Project Lead or PMO team
• Arrive on time and remain self-driven throughout the workday
• Assist with project closeout and final site cleanup
• Participate in post-project feedback and improvement discussions
• Support on-call service duties as assigned
• Work as a strong team player while continuing to build technical skills

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in low voltage, construction, or a similar technical field preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong communication skills and general construction or mechanical knowledge
• Knowledge of communication systems such as audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks preferred
• Basic computer skills in a Windows environment required
• Microsoft Excel experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and occasional outdoor environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• High level of integrity, urgency, and dependability

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• Core hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Due to project demands, overtime and 10-hour shifts may be required

Pay:

• $19.00 – $28.00/hour
• Pay depends on experience and skillset
• Candidates with strong low voltage experience may qualify for higher pay
