Draftsperson

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Draftsperson to join our engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Siemens Solid Edge and experience creating detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and production personnel to develop accurate designs and ensure products are manufactured to specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Siemens Solid Edge.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design concepts to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Develop manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve design issues and improve manufacturability.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Assist with design revisions and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Maintain organized electronic files and drawing databases.
• Support prototype development, testing, and production implementation as needed.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation are completed on schedule and meet project requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of drafting and design experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
• Proficiency with Siemens Solid Edge required.
• Experience creating detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models.
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting aerospace, industrial equipment, metal fabrication, or manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and drafting best practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
• Ability to occasionally visit production and manufacturing areas.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and production personnel.
