Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our client’s team at a high-volume manufacturing plant that produces products for the automotive industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the plant’s large chemical tanks are accurately filled and maintained with the correct chemical mixtures and ratios according to specified formulas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, maintain, and refill large bulk tanks containing raw materials and finished chemical blends.
• Accurately mix chemicals following written formulas, specifications, and established ratios.
• Perform routine checks on tank levels and chemical composition to ensure proper formulation.
• Record data regarding usage, fill levels, and adjustments made to mixtures.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of products.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures related to chemical handling, mixing, and storage.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas according to safety and cleanliness standards.
• Respond quickly to any issues with chemical supply, contamination, or equipment malfunction.

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in chemistry or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in chemical mixing, manufacturing, or plant operations is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions and specifications.
• Basic math skills and comfort working with ratios, weights, and volumes.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work on your feet for extended periods, and operate pumps and valves.
• Familiarity with chemical safety practices, including PPE and SDS compliance.
