Our client located in West Dundee, IL is looking for a Compactor Repair Technician to join their team! In this position, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trash compactors, balers, and related waste-handling equipment at customer sites and in the shop using electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and welding skills.

Compactor Repair Technician Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with compactors and balers
  • Perform field and shop repairs, including welding and power unit assembly
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems, limit switches, photo-eye sensors, and solenoids
  • Clean, lubricate, inspect, and test equipment to prevent downtime
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and repair documentation
  • Communicate repair findings clearly with customers and internal teams
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule including nights and weekends
  • Assist with training or mentoring junior technicians as needed
