Medical Equipment Service Technician / Delivery Driver

A growing healthcare equipment provider is seeking dependable, compassionate, and mechanically inclined individuals for a Medical Equipment Service Technician / Delivery Driver role. This is a hands-on position supporting patients and caregivers by delivering, setting up, and educating users on critical medical equipment in homes and healthcare facilities.

This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in independent work environments, enjoy helping people, and can respond calmly in urgent or emotionally challenging situations.

Pay

  • $22.35–$25/hour based on experience
  • Higher starting rates available for candidates with direct DME or patient-care experience

Schedule

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • One required on-call shift weekly: 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Off the day following on-call shift
  • Other shifts generally scheduled:
    • 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    • 9:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Rotating weekend schedule every few weeks

Schedules are posted 1–2 months in advance, and time-off requests are accommodated whenever possible with advance notice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver, install, and retrieve medical equipment including:
    • Oxygen equipment
    • Hospital beds
    • Wheelchairs
    • Other home medical devices
  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on proper equipment use
  • Respond to urgent delivery and service requests with strict ETA expectations
  • Safely operate a 14-foot box truck and independently manage daily routes
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide excellent patient service
  • Handle physically demanding deliveries and emotionally sensitive situations professionally

Preferred backgrounds include:

  • Delivery driving or route-based work
  • Medical equipment or patient-care experience
  • Manufacturing, assembly, QA, or mechanically inclined roles
  • Experience driving larger vehicles or box trucks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly throughout the shift
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work in homes, facilities, and warehouse environments
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screening requirements, including:
    • DOT physical examination
    • Drug screening
    • National criminal background check

Due to the nature of this position, employees will enter private residences, healthcare facilities, and secure patient-care environments while handling medical equipment and oxygen-related products. Candidates must be able to successfully meet all company safety, compliance, and screening standards as a condition of employment.

Training

Comprehensive paid training includes:

  • Gradual route progression from pickups to full-service routes
