Job Summary

A local outdoor furniture manufacturer is seeking a Grinder / Weld Repair Technician to support production operations. This position is responsible for grinding, smoothing, and repairing previously completed welds to ensure products meet quality standards before finishing and assembly.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, enjoys hands-on work, and can safely use grinding and finishing tools in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Grind and smooth welded areas on metal outdoor furniture components
  • Repair weld imperfections including rough spots, excess material, gaps, and cosmetic defects
  • Inspect welded parts for quality and consistency
  • Use hand grinders, sanding tools, and other finishing equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain production pace while meeting quality expectations
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Work with welders and production team members to resolve quality issues
  • Keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, grinding, metal finishing, or welding experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands and arms while operating grinding and finishing tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to metal dust, noise, sparks, and grinding equipment
  • PPE required at all times
