SOLDERER – $24-$30/hr
This position is responsible for assembling electronic products according to drawings and documentation requirements, performing soldering and rework on through-hole and surface mount components, and ensuring products meet IPC and company quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, works well within a team, and maintains high standards of workmanship and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble electronic products to drawing and documentation requirements. Prep, install, remove, and touch-up through-hole and SMT components by hand soldering. Perform modifications to printed circuit boards including wires, jumper wires, and trace cuts. Perform mechanical assembly using work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies, or verbal instructions. Read, understand, and navigate Fusion/Factory Logix documentation. Assist with prepping, stuffing, and selective solder operations. Operate in-line and batch washers, board heaters, and depanel assemblies per work instructions. Inspect your own work and others to IPC-A-610 class standards per documentation. Track job status and time using MES. Obtain and maintain IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications, and IPC-7711 certification if needed by the team. Perform epoxy, RTV, or potting requirements per documentation. Maintain 6S standards, follow safety, ESD, ITAR, and QMS protocols, and actively participate in Lean activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods as required by job tasks. Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed work, including inspection under a microscope when necessary. Must be able to pass a vision exam with a minimum visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye, with or without corrective lenses, and pass a color vision test to accurately distinguish color-coded components or materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Soldering and production experience required. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work within a team and basic computer skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One to two years of soldering experience. IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711 certifications. Two or more years working in a production environment. Excellent interpersonal skills.
