Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Controller / Senior Accountant for a growing manufacturing company. This position plays a critical role in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll support, accounts receivable/payable functions, inventory reconciliation, and administrative operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and record LOC payments
- Maintain internal controls over accounting transactions
- Reconcile general ledger balances with customer and supplier subledgers
- Calculate and remit sales tax filings
- Provide financial analysis for pricing decisions, contracts, and capital investments
- Assist with budgeting and operational reporting
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Record vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Review and process AP invoices and vendor statements
- Prepare checks for approval and signature
- Oversee accounts receivable collections and customer follow-up
- Prepare bank deposits and review incoming payments
Inventory & Operations Support
- Perform cycle counts and inventory evaluations
- Support inventory adjustments and transfers
- Coordinate month-end transaction processing with operations
- Assist with sales order processing and production coordination
- Assign VIN and serial numbers to chassis and sales orders
Payroll & Human Resources Support
- Process payroll and payroll-related tax reporting
- Maintain employee records and assist with evaluations
- Conduct new hire orientations and benefits enrollment
- Track and manage employee PTO requests
Administrative & Leadership Duties
- Communicate with vendors, insurance providers, banks, and service partners
- Support customer service and quoting functions when needed
- Assist with safety committee oversight and vendor coordination
- Perform additional duties as assigned by ownership or leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting or controller experience preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality
