Are you experienced in mechanical assembly, aerospace manufacturing, or precision production work? We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler / Aerospace Assembler to join a growing aerospace manufacturing team in Garden Grove, CA. This position is ideal for candidates with experience using hand tools, power tools, blueprints, rivet equipment, drill presses, and precision measuring instruments in a manufacturing or aircraft assembly environment.
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work with tight tolerances, and a commitment to quality and safety standards in a fast-paced production setting.
Due to government contract requirements, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for this position.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for assembling structural components and subassemblies using blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, hand tools, and power tools in a precision manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with tight tolerances, drilling, riveting, hardware installation, blueprint reading, and aircraft or manufacturing assembly processes. This position may also support troubleshooting, rework, equipment setup, and training of junior assemblers as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Determine detail and hardware locations using blueprints and mylars
- Set up and operate drill presses, pneumatic drills, rivet pullers, hand squeezes, and “C” squeezes
- Set up countersinks according to fastener requirements and shop router instructions
- Work with extremely tight tolerances and precision measurements
- Drill holes in structures and subassemblies according to blueprint and customer specifications
- Attach brackets, hinges, clips, and hardware components using rivets, bolts, and screws
- Install units, equipment, components, and subassemblies using hand tools and power tools
- Position and align subassemblies in jigs and fixtures using measuring instruments and blueprint reference points
- Locate and mark installation reference points using templates, jigs, and measuring tools
- Inspect and test installed parts and assemblies for fit, performance, quality, and compliance
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring lists, blueprints, and work instructions
- Perform rework from test failures according to standard repair procedures
- Assist with setup and operation of automated assembly equipment as needed
- Complete all required quality and production documentation
- Perform preventative maintenance on assembly tooling and presses
- Verify hardware and part counts according to shop router requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area
- Complete required safety and operational training
- Support team operations and assist with additional duties as assigned
At more senior levels, this role may also provide training, guidance, and leadership support to newer assemblers.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 1–2 years of mechanical assembly, aerospace assembly, manufacturing, or production experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contract requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong blueprint reading and engineering drawing interpretation skills
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, drill presses, rivet tools, and measuring instruments
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, work instructions, and design changes
- Working knowledge of aircraft manufacturing or precision manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with customer specifications and quality requirements
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools
- Strong mathematical skills including fractions, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction
- Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain quality standards
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Frequent use of hands for handling, assembling, gripping, and operating tools
- Ability to reach with hands and arms for extended periods
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required
