Earn $30/Hour Participating in a Real Legal Mock Trial

We are seeking engaged, communicative individuals to participate in a 3-day mock trial study for a legal consulting client preparing for a civil case. This is a paid, in-person opportunity where participants will act as mock jurors and provide valuable feedback that helps shape real legal strategy.

• $30/hour (earn $810 total for 27 hours)
• All meals provided (breakfast, lunch, refreshments)

Job Details

• Dates: June 8, 9, and 10 (must attend all three days)
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day (27 total hours)
• Location: Downtown Austin, TX
• Commitment Required: Full participation in all 3 days is required to receive payment

What You’ll Do

• Review case materials and evidence
• Listen to legal arguments and presentations
• Participate in structured group discussions
• Complete written questionnaires
• Share honest opinions as part of a mock jury

 No acting required — we want your real perspectives and feedback

Requirements

To ensure a diverse and realistic jury pool, candidates must:

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Be a U.S. citizen and jury-eligible
• Have lived in the Austin area for at least 1 year
• Possess strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills
• Be comfortable speaking in groups (not shy or reserved)
• Be able to sit for extended periods with scheduled breaks
• Be available for all 3 full days (no partial attendance)

 Education & Background

• Individuals with 4-year degrees or postgraduate education preferred

Not Eligible

• Attorneys, law students, or anyone with legal training
• Individuals with felony convictions (unless civil rights have been restored)
• Friends, family members, coworkers, or couples applying together

Additional Guidelines

• Dress code: Business casual
• Participants will read case materials and complete forms
  -  Please bring reading glasses if needed

• Engaged, opinionated, and thoughtful
• Reliable and punctual for a multi-day commitment
• Interested in legal processes, research studies, or jury decision-making

Compensation

• $30/hour for 27 hours = $810 total
