About the Role

Express Employment Professionals Akron is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Biller to join a small but growing healthcare practice serving veterans and community members throughout the area. This position plays a vital role in managing the full lifecycle of Medicaid and Veteran Affairs (VA) claims while ensuring accurate billing and timely reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Ohio Medicaid systems and VA Community Care billing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit and track Medicaid claims through Ohio PNM/OMES and other payer portals
• Process VA Community Care Network (CCN) claims and invoices
• Monitor claim denials and manage appeals for timely reimbursement
• Accurately post payments from EOBs and ERAs
• Follow up on unpaid or aged Medicaid and VA accounts
• Assist with provider credentialing for Ohio Medicaid and VA contracts
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and stay current on Ohio Medicaid policy updates
• Communicate professionally with VA representatives and Medicaid offices to resolve discrepancies

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
• Experience with Ohio Medicaid and Veteran Affairs billing preferred
• Familiarity with Ohio billing codes and OMES portal strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks experience is a plus
• High attention to detail with accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Strong communication and organizational skills
