Shift: Day, 8am-5pm

Position Overview

Our client, a well-established manufacturer of high-end commercial furniture for the hospitality industry, is seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join their production team. This individual will play a key role in producing high-quality upholstered seating and custom furniture pieces for major hospitality projects across North America.

 

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on upholstery experience, understands a variety of upholstery materials, and takes pride in craftsmanship, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Upholster seating products and custom furniture pieces to high quality standards.
• Work closely with Project Managers and internal upholstery teams on both production runs and custom projects.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and production specifications.
• Adjust and replace webbing, springs, foam, and padding as required.
• Build furniture with fibre and foam to create smooth, finished surfaces.
• Attach fasteners, buttons, buckles, trim, and accessories using hand tools.
• Inspect frames, upholstery, springs, and webbing to identify and correct defects.
• Make modifications and adjustments based on client requirements.
• Maintain quality standards while working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while also being able to work independently.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–5 years of upholstery experience, ideally within the seating or furniture industry.
• Experience working with vinyl, leather, and various fabric materials.
• Strong understanding of upholstery techniques, materials, and finishing.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings.
• Skilled with hand tools and manual fabrication work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
