Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Bulk Tanker Driver to transport and unload cementitious materials, fly ash, slag, lime, and other dry bulk products to ready-mix concrete plants and related facilities. This role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted production operations and ensuring safe, on-time deliveries.
The ideal candidate will have strong driving skills, mechanical awareness, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and professionalism.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate pneumatic bulk tanker trucks
- Transport dry bulk materials to customer locations and plants
- Perform safe loading and unloading procedures
- Operate blower systems and pneumatic discharge equipment
- Maintain delivery schedules while complying with DOT regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Complete delivery paperwork and electronic logs accurately
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, plant personnel, and customers
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance concerns promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of truck and tanker equipment
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Assist with deliveries during emergency or high-demand situations
- Ensure proper PPE usage and compliance with OSHA/MSHA requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of DOT safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and Saturdays as needed
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred:
- Pneumatic tanker experience
- Dry bulk material hauling experience
- Ready-mix or construction material industry experience
- TWIC card
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience
Physical Requirements:
- Climbing tanker ladders and elevated platforms
- Repetitive bending, lifting, and reaching
- Extended periods of sitting and driving
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely handle pressurized unloading equipment
Safety Expectations:
Drivers are expected to:
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions
- Maintain safe driving habits and defensive driving practices
- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training
Work Environment:
- Ready-mix plants
- Construction sites
- Material terminals
- Industrial environments
- Outdoor work in heat, rain, and dusty conditions
Schedule:
- Full-time
- Monday-Friday
- Weekend work as needed
- Early morning start times common
