Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Akron is partnering with a respected manufacturing client in Barberton, OH to hire a Rubber Manufacturing Team Lead. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong production experience and a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and team accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece and hourly quality checks in both press and trim operations
• Set and communicate daily production goals based on customer demands
• Track and review production performance; collect and verify daily reporting sheets
• Provide performance feedback to management on team members
• Monitor workflow through production cells and address issues impacting delivery timelines
• Assist with production planning and scheduling
• Execute metal insert receiving processes using AS9100-compliant documentation
• Conduct cycle counts for customer-owned materials
• Ensure proper use and accuracy of compliance documentation
• Identify failure trends and implement immediate corrective actions
• Verify accuracy of shipping paperwork and coordinate with packing team
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and AS/ISO compliance

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably rubber or plastics
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
• Strong understanding of quality control processes
• Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO standards is highly preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
