Our client, a Print Shop in Scarborough is looking for a Rewinder Machine Operator to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, and operate rewinder machine to cut and convert large rolls into smaller finished rolls according to customer specifications
• Inspect materials for defects ensuring high quality of materials produced
• Use ruler to measure labels and spaces in between labels and correctly input into machines and products and convert fractions to decimals
• Convert inches to fractions and decimals and vice versa when measuring labels
• Lift printed rolls
• Troubleshoot machines and report any breakdowns and possible quality defects
• Package and place completed rolls into boxes
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

• 1-2 years of Machine operation experience
• Basic math skills (able to convert inches to fractions/decimals)
• Solid understanding of how to use rulers
• Able to lift 30-60lbs
• Clear Criminal Check required
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and able to meet deadlines
• Comfortable standing for long periods
• Good communications skills (verbal and written)
• Team player and able to work with minimal supervision
• Coachable, reliable, and willing to learn
• Safety boots required

 Bonus Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating printing or rewinder machines (asset)
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and work well under pressure
• Experience in a production environment
• Previous work experience in paper or paper converting industry
• Good problem-solving skills and able to multitask

Compensation and Hours:

• Monday to Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm (hours may vary)
• Pay rate: $18-20 per hour based on experience
