Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Aircraft Windshield Engineer for a leading aerospace manufacturing and engineering environment in the Fort Worth area. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with expertise in aircraft transparencies, laminated glass systems, structural analysis, and FAA certification standards to contribute to safety-critical aerospace components.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with aircraft windshield design, transparent structures, bird strike analysis, thermal systems, and aerospace materials engineering. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced aerospace systems supporting commercial and military aviation applications.

Aircraft Windshield Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, analyze, and improve aircraft windshields, side windows, and transparent structural systems
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis using FEA tools to validate windshield performance under pressure, impact, and temperature loads
  • Develop engineering drawings and 3D CAD models for aerospace transparency systems
  • Support FAA certification, PMA approvals, and aerospace compliance documentation
  • Conduct bird strike, hail impact, and pressure differential evaluations
  • Select and evaluate aerospace-grade materials including laminated acrylic, polycarbonate, and glass systems
  • Support manufacturing, tooling, fabrication, and quality inspection processes
  • Troubleshoot windshield defects including delamination, cracking, coating failures, and heating element issues
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams on continuous product improvements
  • Participate in design reviews, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with aircraft structures, aircraft transparencies, or laminated glass systems
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aerospace certification requirements
  • Experience with CAD software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Understanding of bird strike analysis, thermal management systems, anti-ice systems, and optical coatings
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and structural testing methods
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in aerospace OEM, MRO, or aircraft component manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of ATA Chapter 56 standards
  • Experience supporting FAA or PMA certification programs
  • Background in aerospace composites, bonding systems, or structural repair development
