Welding Helpers Needed NOW!
We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Welding Helpers to join our production team. In this role, you will provide critical support to our skilled welders in the fabrication of structural steel components for industrial and commercial buildings. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the welding and manufacturing industry.
Preparation: Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding by removing rust, scale, and slag using grinders, wire brushes, and scrapers.
Material Handling: Move, position, and clamp steel beams, plates, and components into place using overhead cranes or forklifts.
Tacking & Support: Assist welders by holding components in place and performing basic tack welds to secure parts for final welding.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure welding machines, torches, and tools are in good working order; replace electrodes and wire spools as needed.
Quality Control: Inspect finished welds for defects and assist in grinding or polishing joints to meet structural specifications.
Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all OSHA and company safety protocols, including the consistent use of PPE.
Experience: Previous experience in a shop or construction environment is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
Skills: * Basic knowledge of hand and power tools (grinders, saws, drills).
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Basic understanding of blueprints or shop drawings is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
