Position Title: Welder

Location: Hawthorne
Pay Rate: $24.70 per hour

Job Purpose

Responsibilities include interpreting designs, monitoring machinery, and assessing welded components at assigned Company facilities. The Welder will ensure all welding operations are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining company quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts and welding procedures.
• Weld small and large components including copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
• Operate specialized industrial welding machinery and oversee automated welding equipment.
• Maintain and repair welding machinery and related equipment.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors, defects, or needed repairs.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including the use of heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, safety shoes, and other PPE.
• Monitor machinery for proper usage, performance, and temperature control.
• Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Maintain accurate reporting and scheduling records as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
• Ensure adequate supply of welding and production materials.
• Stay current with the latest welding technologies, equipment, and techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure unauthorized personnel are not present during welding operations.
• Follow all company safety procedures and ensure welding PPE is properly used and maintained.

Work Context

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit and regularly use hands for handling, operating, or feeling equipment.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to communicate effectively through talking and hearing.

Lifting Requirements

• Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Industrial warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to welding equipment, machinery, heat, and noise.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related welding position or industry.

Licenses, Certifications & Registrations

• Forklift Certification required.
• Relevant welding licenses and certifications from accredited institutions required.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Welding certifications and hands-on welding experience.
• Knowledge of company material requirements and production processes.
• Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical designs.

• Strong verbal communication and speaking skills.
