Gas Compression Technician

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $54.00–$60.00/hour

An Edmonton client is seeking a Gas Compression Technician: Journeyperson HET, Millwright, or Automotive Technician to join their team.

Gas Compression Technician Highlights:

• Diagnose mechanical and operational failures on gas compression engines.
• Troubleshoot no-start conditions, surging, RPM fluctuations, leaks, and performance issues.
• Perform failure analysis and identify root causes.
• Complete major overhauls and rebuilds on large natural gas engines.
• Replace and repair engine components and systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Travel to customer sites throughout Grande Prairie and surrounding regions.
• Complete service documentation and reporting.
• Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams.
• Operate a fully tooled company service truck.
• Follow all company and customer safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Journeyperson HET, Millwright, or Automotive Technician certification required.
• Minimum 2+ years of gas compression experience required (Gemini, Ariel, Waukesha, etc.).
• Large engine experience considered a strong asset.
• Previous field/service truck experience required.
• Open to field work and rotational schedules.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

Hours & Wage:

• Full-Time | Field Service | Grande Prairie, AB
• $54.00–$60.00/hour
• Field premium, shift premium, per diem, and overtime available
• Rotational schedules: 5x2, 7x7, or 14x14
• Primarily 12-hour day shifts with consistent overtime opportunities

Benefits:

• 6% employer pension contribution with additional employer matching available
• Full health, dental, STD, and LTD benefits
• Annual compensation ranging from approximately $140,000–$154,000/year depending on schedule and overtime
