Campus Maintenance Associate / Maintenance Technician - Saint Benedict, LA

Large School & Church Campus

A large school/church campus is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Associate (Maintenance Technician) to join our Physical Plant team. This position supports the upkeep, safety, and efficiency of campus buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry repairs (framing, fences, doors, minor construction, etc.)
• Complete minor plumbing repairs (toilets, faucets, valves, drains, etc.)
• Complete minor electrical repairs (lighting, ballasts, switches, outlets, etc.)
• Conduct preventative maintenance (belts, filters, coil cleaning, inspections, etc.)
• Perform painting and wall repairs (sanding, priming, painting, sheetrock repair)
• Assist grounds crew as needed (grass cutting, bush hogging, weed eating, etc.)
• Maintain and service equipment (automotive, tractors, backhoe, lawnmowers, etc.)
• Coordinate or consult with contractors as assigned
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as directed by the Department Director

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC basics
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Ability to operate and maintain grounds and maintenance equipment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting and outdoor work

Preferred Experience

• Campus, school, church, or commercial maintenance experience
• Equipment and small engine maintenance experience
