Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate for a busy construction supply company in Gainesville. This role supports contractors, builders, and walk-in customers by providing product knowledge, processing orders, and ensuring excellent service at the sales counter.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with construction material and supply purchases

• Process sales orders, invoices, and payments

• Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries

• Recommend products based on customer needs

• Maintain organized inventory and showroom displays

• Coordinate with warehouse staff for order fulfillment

• Support loading assistance when needed

• Build strong relationships with contractors and repeat customers

Qualifications

• Previous counter sales, retail sales, or construction supply experience preferred

• Knowledge of building materials, tools, or hardware is a plus

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Basic computer and POS system experience

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Reliable attendance and positive attitude

• Forklift experience is a bonus
