Temporary Sorter C Shift

Located in Indianapolis, IN

Salary: $18.50/hour

Company Information: A waste/recycling company is hiring 1st and 3rd Shift Sorters to their team! This nearly new facility features nice and clean amenities and a well-maintained workspace throughout.

The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and is okay working in a unique, dirtier environment. This facility is located on the southside of downtown Indianapolis. Candidates who come from a general labor background often work well in these roles due to the physical nature this position can provide.

Sorter's Pay/Benefits:

• $18.50/HR

Sorter's Schedule:

• Shift is 5:45PM – 6:15AM, working a 2 day on, 2 day off, 3 day on pattern
• You will get 36 hours in one week and 48 hours the next
• Must be available to work holidays if your schedule falls on that day

Sorter's Job Duties:

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste (a line of plastic) - mainly plastics
• Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate chute
• Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items
• Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required
• This position does work in a dirtier environment so candidates should be okay with items such as trash and recycling.
• Must be able to lift, carry or move materials quickly and efficiently.

Sorter's Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• The general labor tasks in this role require a high strength and stamina level to complete the job.
• Must be able to stand for entire shift and move at fast pace
• Excellent coordination and communication with team members
• Must be reliable! This is a small crew so one person missing a day off work will make a huge difference
