GL Accountant

Salary: $32.00-$35.00

The General Ledger (GL) Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end close process. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The GL Accountant works closely with the finance team to support reporting, audits, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.

• Maintain the general ledger and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

• Assist with financial statement preparation and internal management reporting.

• Review and analyze general ledger activity to identify trends, errors, or unusual transactions.

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting as needed.

• Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.

• Participate in process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

•  

  Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).

•  

  Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).

•  

  Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

•  

  Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

•  

  Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
