Salary: 70,000-90,000

Our client, a trusted leader in aluminum extrusion and fabrication with over 20 years of experience, is seeking a Senior Draftsperson to lead drafting activities for complex aluminum window, curtainwall, door and facade projects. This role includes mentoring junior draftspersons and collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and sales teams.

 

Responsibilities

- Prepare and review detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings and installation details for aluminum systems. 

- Lead, develop and mentor junior drafting staff;

 - Ensure quality and timeline targets are met. 

- Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers to resolve design issues. 

- Create manufacturable drawings. 

- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and drawings for sheet-metal components. 

- Manage version control and drawing archives. 

- Support sales and quotations by ensuring approval drawings meet customer expectations. 

- Conduct occasional site visits for field measurements and condition verification.

 

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architectural Technology or related field. 

- 5+ years of drafting experience in aluminum, glass or construction industry, with focus on curtainwall/window/facade systems. 

- Expert Revit knowledge is needed

- Proven leadership or mentoring experience. 

- MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

- Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail. 

- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. 

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines. 

- Valid driver’s license and vehicle for site visits (mileage reimbursed).
