Our client in Manhattan is in need of a Collections Specialist.

 

We’re looking for a motivated Collections Specialist to support our revenue cycle operations and strengthen financial performance. This role focuses on managing accounts receivable, resolving unpaid claims, and ensuring timely collection of patient and insurance balances. If you’re detail oriented, confident on the phone, and skilled at follow up, this position offers strong earning potential and room for growth.

Primary Responsibilities
• Collections & A/R Management: Contact patients and insurance carriers to resolve outstanding balances and overdue claims.
• Insurance Claim Follow Up: Track and follow up on claims through phone calls, portals, and electronic systems to secure accurate reimbursement.
• Patient Support: Explain billing statements, answer questions, and resolve disputes with professionalism and empathy.
• Documentation: Record all collection activity, adjustments, and follow up actions; prepare status reports for leadership.
• Delinquent Accounts: Identify high risk accounts and implement strategies to improve recovery rates.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with billing, insurance, and front desk teams to streamline account resolution.
• Spreadsheet Use: Utilize Excel and Google Sheets to track balances, trends, and collection progress.
• Payment Posting: Post payments, reconcile accounts, process corrections, and manage re billing when needed.

Meetings & Communication
• Front Desk Coordination: Provide updates on patient account issues and payment status.
• Team Meetings: Participate in weekly discussions with billing, insurance, and management teams to review account performance and strategy.

Additional tasks may be assigned based on business needs, offering opportunities to expand skills and increase commission potential.
Compensation:
• $65,000/year + commission for candidates with 5+ years of out of network revenue cycle collections experience
• $50,000/year for candidates with no prior collections experience but have strong computer, Excel, and Google Drive experience
