Prepress Technician

Salary: 18+ BOE

Specialty printing company in Dallas looking for an experienced Prepress Technician to prep digital files for large format production. This role requires precision, problem-solving, and strong communication across departments to ensure files are press-ready and production runs smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prep and troubleshoot files for print using Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Excel.
• Read and update production grids; track changes across job versions.
• Work closely with Designers, Project Managers, and Production to ensure clear, accurate output.
• Create install guides, kitting lists, and other production support docs.
• Switch tasks quickly across multiple jobs and assist other departments when needed.
• Handle cut vinyl prep (cutting, weeding, taping, packing); training provided.

Experience Required

• 2+ years of prepress/print production experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) + Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex info.
• PC & Mac experience; bonus for Flexi or Fiery knowledge.
• Self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments.
