Overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, hardworking Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced team in Plant City. This role requires someone with strong AP experience, an ability to manage a heavy workload, and the adaptability to handle shifting priorities. It’s not for the faint of heart — but it’s a great fit for someone who thrives in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, vendor payments, customer credits, and freight invoices

• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries

• Monitor discount opportunities and prepare checks to vendors

• Verify federal ID numbers and ensure compliance with company policies

• Resolve discrepancies with purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payments

• Reconcile AP trial balances and compare system reports to balances

• Ensure proper credit is received for outstanding memos

• Process and verify employee expense reports and requests for advances

• Issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments as needed

• Maintain confidentiality and continuously seek process improvements

Skills & Experience

• 2–3 years of Accounts Payable experience

• Strong organizational skills and ability to process high volumes of work accurately

• Proficiency in Excel; experience with AS400 preferred

• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing workload with a “work-horse” mentality

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
