Customer Service Representative / Career Services Coordinator

Location: Rio Grande City, TX

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible hours may be required)

 

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Customer Service Representative / Career Services Coordinator to support workforce and employment services in Rio Grande City, TX. This role involves assisting job seekers, providing career guidance, coordinating workforce resources, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced office environment. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and comfortable working with diverse individuals while helping connect customers to employment and educational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in person, by phone, and virtually with employment and workforce-related services
  • Provide job search assistance, resume guidance, interview preparation, and application support
  • Identify and refer qualified candidates to available job opportunities
  • Educate customers on workforce resources, training programs, and educational opportunities
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal teams, employers, and community partners
  • Track customer interactions and maintain accurate records in workforce systems
  • Support workforce center performance goals and customer follow-up efforts
  • Assist with additional administrative and customer service duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, OR Associate degree with 2 years of related experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of customer service or workforce-related experience
  • Previous experience in customer service, workforce development, career counseling, or community services preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems
  • Ability to multitask and work with diverse customer populations
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused
